Dear Dr Daly and AP Romero

We have a policy at the Sports and Recreation Centre that play will be suspended at our fields if they have become wet and soggy – resulting from rain. This is to ensure that the playing surface will not be damaged. Otherwise, we may have to close the fields for repairs which may cause more inconvenience to users.

I understand from our security guard that he had tried unsuccessfully to stop you and your team from playing softball at our field 2 last Saturday at around 4.30pm. At that point in time, the field was deemed to be unplayable.

We have stopped a number of groups for the same reason in the past. For consistency, this ruling applies to all groups.

We hope we can count on your understanding and support in this matter in the future.

Thanks and regards
