16 September 2006 - Oogggleee, Oogggleee, Ooggleee

ONES: 1B: Seven; 2B-Rover: Horfun; SS: The Venezualan Jaguar; LF: The Mick; RF: Rugburn
TWOS: 1B: Rickey; SS: DT; LF: Rube: CF: Swiss Miss; RF: Nigey-pooh

Game One:
ONES: 14
TWOS: 12

We played Prof. Zen/Indiana Rules. The game was very low scoring and tight until the bottom of the 8th inning. At that point, the score was tied at 8-8. The ONES spent the majority of the game hitting grounders or line-drives to DT, while the TWOS hit pop ups to The Mick and Rugburn. Even without a CF (albeit with restricted foul lines), the ONES didn't need one. The Mick and Rugburn covered the ground well. The real superstar was Horfun with the bat. She kept the ONES alive with strong singles, until finally the other boys finally woke up.

The game went fast, except for a long, drawn out-argument between everyone and Rickey over whether or not a person should be tagged at home when people are on 1st and 2nd,and the runner has been thrown out at 1st under Prof. Zen/Indiana rules (It's actually a hard one to call considering how the rules work. If you don't know what the issue is, you haven't played Prof Zen/Indiana). Alirio acted as arbitrator, while Swiss Miss and Nigey-pooh slept in the outfield. Everyone else argued.

After watching "Talledaga Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" at Joe's, we went bowling. All sucked; many a baseball cap was thrown in frustration. The only exception was the Mick, who bowled a remarkable 177 in both games.

NOTES:
1) When Rugburn wants to break up a play, he chants the ritualistic, "Oogggleee, Oogggleee, Ooggleee"; 2) Swiss Miss had a certain "I don't care to go after that ball" quality on certain hits; 3) Seven had some base-running/fielding challenges; 4) The Jaguar's first 5 at-bats all went directly to DT; 5) Horfun led off at least 4 different innings; 6) Everyone won "DY" today. When catching against your own team, everyone made the plays.

MBP: Horfun
Best Bat: Horfun
Biggest Bat: Rugburn
Tired Arm: DT
DY: Everyone
Lebowski (MBP at bowling): The Mick
