21 January 2006 - Ego Boost

The Team:
P: Seven; C: Rickey/Guppy/Diana; 1B: Rube; 2B: Sarah; 3B: The Venezualan Jaguar; SS: Clement; OF: Grandpa, Gil the Gazelle, Melson, JD
Reserves: DT, The Cheetah

The Other Team: Eusoff Hall, plus Heidi

Score (around 6 innings):
Saturday Softball: 22
The Other Team: 2

Another game at West Coast, where apparantly it is illegal to play ball games unless you pay someone. No wonder sports is messed up here. Where's the joy of playing? I'll let DT take over the rant on that one.

We dominated Eusoff Hall, but they did play better than most Hall teams we've faced. They had some good fielders, but had trouble getting hits. There was a rainstorm in the middle of all of it, but game continued.

NOTES:
1) We batted around, and more, in the 2nd inning. That's right 14+ people batted in the second inning; 2) Melson had some monster hits, each one sticking a knife in the heart of the other team; 3) The Other Team's pitcher had an arch of about 8 meters on his pitches, and we were calling balls and strikes. 4) Seven was pitching like a pro. Great job; 5) Rickey was running to 3B and was hit smack in the back of the head by the ball being throw in from rightfield. Everyone looked a bit shocked, but Rickey shook it off. He was surprised it wasn't DT throwing the ball. 6) Sarah is the real deal. Drop med school Down Under and come play for us full time; 7) Guppy had his first swinging bunt in years; 8) Heidi looked extremely angry during the second inning rally.

MBP: Seven
Gold Glove: The Venezualan Jaguar
Biggest Bat: Melson
Play of the Day: Rickey gets hit in head by ball
Most likely to have an aneuryism: Heidi

NO GAME ON 28 JANUARY. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR.
