14 January 2005 - Short, sweet and dry

ONES: 1B: Heidi; 2B: Horfun; 3B: Marv-elous; SS: DY; LF: Rube; CF: Ru-bane; RF: Say Hey Kid
TWOS: 1B: Nigey-pooh; 2B: Diana; 3B: Rickey; SS: D-"I'm Quicker than I thought"-T; LF: Cool Papa; CF: Ru-bane; RF: Seven

GAME 1 (3 Innings):
ONES: 16
TWOS: 16

That's right: we played three innings, had 32 runs and it was not even the small ball. Played at West Coast, since the NUS fields are swampy, nasty. Played "Rube Rules", with the CF dead. Game started out with the TWOS getting 10 in the top of the first. The ONES fought back valiently and tied the game before the rains came (again). At Joes, Latino (and Gringo) Heat dominated on the pool table as the Generalissimo returned. He's back and in fighting shape...

NOTES:
1) Heidi was hitting with authority; 2) Diana made the only play in the infield all day, with a grounder that she tossed to Nigey-pooh; 3) Rube and Cool Papa were running all over LF. They got a good work-out and both had nice throws throughout the game into homeplate or the infielders; 4) DY had some masterful hits along the cones in RF, over 3B, and then trying to take his position back from Rickey, who screamed like a girl; 5) The Say Hey Kid was quietly (as usual) getting great hits and running all over the bases, always going for that extra base; 6) Rube had a hit that was leaving the park, but the winds from the sea blew it back in. 7) Rickey: Never out.

MBP: Ru-Bane (made at least 8 of the 18 outs)
Gold Glove: Diana
Best Bat: DY/Heidi (tie)
Biggest Bat: Rube
DY: Cool Papa (catching a foul pop)
Best Arm: Cool Papa
Bonehead: DT runs back for a high pop up, and runs too far.
Cisco (Protecting the Jewels) Award: Rickey
