24 September - The Importance of Small Ball

ONES: 1B: Heidi; 2B: Diana; 3B: The Jaguar; SS: Tony Montana; LF: Spider; CF: WeiXiong; RF: Seven; Rover: Anthony
TWOS: 1B: Rube; 2B: Soo-eey; 3B: Rickey; SS: Nomar; LF: Cool Papa; CF: TS; RF: The Say Hey Kid; Rover: Jason

Game One:
ONES: 12
TWOS: 6

Game Two (5 innings):
ONES: 11
TWOS: 7

A really good game was played under sunny skies. Not quite the classic of last week, but still a good one. The ones had very few spectacular hits (the Jaguar had a boomer to LF though), but had lots of singles and speed. They rarely advanced more than a base, but it more than enough to bring shame to the big bats (read: pop-ups) of the TWOS. It was the same story in both games.

NOTES:
1) Spider had a huge bat in the first game. But, he also has the normal running errors that he can pile up. Once he was caught advancing to 3B on what was double. Shot down. Later he was on 3B and ran home on a pop up without tagging up. 2)Weixiong was his typically speedy self. He was tearing up the bases, covering on defense and making good throws. Although Spider had the bigger bat, I got to give Weixiong the MBP. 3) Cool Papa was all the Twos had. He hit one of the fastest line drives I've ever seen. It was like a bullet coming off the bat. He, of course, turned it into a homerun. 4) Diana had glove in the first game; bat in the second the game; 5) Jason had to make some potentially dangerous relationship ending decisions several times, on throws or calls. Each time, he strengthened the relationship. 6) Nomar on the tag at home. He's catching and Soo-eey is coming round the bend. When he makes the tag (knee height), she tumbles into the half-mud, half-dirt. Soo-eey shakes it off like a pro, but it looked scary. 7) Play of the day had to be Heidi and the Say Hey Kid. Didn't see most of it, but people were talking. Rickey hits into potential DP. But, Tony Montana touches second and then his throw - dare I say it - is a bit off. The Say Hey Kid goes wheeling around 3B, Heidi runs towards home and runs down the speedy one.

Play of the Day: Heidi and the Say Hey Kid
Gold Glove: Diana
Biggest Bat: Spider
Best Bat: Heidi

Is there any way we can start a rostere section on this site? I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the new nicknames and people.
