27 August 2005 - Mercy, Mercy Me

ONES: P: Grandpa; C: Guppy; 1B: Heidi/Say Hey Kid; 2B: Marv-elous; SS: DT; 3B: The Venezualan Jaguar; OF: T1, T2, WeiXiong, Gil the Gazelle, San San
TWOS: P: SWAT; C: Jason/Rickey; 1B: John; 2B: Diana; SS: Nomar; 3B: Sandman; OF: Male Jo, Melson, The Cheetah, Jason, Burma Girl, CK, Rube

1st Game (6 innings):
ONES: 17
TWOS: 7

2nd Game (4 Innings):
ONES: 3
TWOS: 1 (Thanks Melson)

The scoreline says it all. It was a good day, once again, and the turn out was strong. The games were lopsided, mainly due to a leaky defense on behalf of the Twos and good hitting (it has to be said) for the Ones. Tans are also slowly drifting back. The only positive thing for the Twos was Melson, who must have had good coaching as a secondary school student. Without him, the ones would have mercy-ed their opponents in the 2nd or 3rd inning.

NOTES:
Take that Pat Robertson!! The Jaguar was on a tear. He had at least 2 home runs (I think) and other multi-base hits. He also may have gone through a tank of oxygen; DT was very good at short. No rants needed today; On the opposite side, Nomar needs his Boston/NY vacation. I'm sure he'll come back fired up (and perhaps a Yankees fan); Diana made some great plays at 2nd; There was an easy pop-up in the infield. Heidi and Marv-elous let it fall in-between each other after making a play for it; Jason threw someone out at 1st (no, not Rickey) from the outfield; Melson hit a kitty-length homer in the 2nd game; Rube graced us for a couple of innings. It was old Rube: dress pants, no shirt, no shoes; San San reached base every time she came to bat.

MBP: The Jaguar
Golden Glove: DT
Biggest Bat: San San
Best Hit: Melson
Drama Mama: Heidi and Marv-elous
