Wow, what a day. Look at that turn out. We should have a BBQ every week. It was a hot day, and the ball was even hotter. Two excellent games. Both were won by the ONES in a walk-off fashion. The ONES really controlled the first game. The TWOS clawed their way back, but were unable to hold off the ONES in that one. In the second one, the TWOS blew it. Up 10-2, they gave up too many runs in the 3rd (and supposedly final) inning. Both games saw great hitting, great fielding (usually), some bonehead errors, and some incredible rallies on both sides. This is what Saturday Softball is all about. A week to remember.

NOTES:
1) Kyle II is now Superdad. Give him a pink castle, and he can take care of kids for hours. The real benefit is getting Amy (the Better Half) to play. After seeing her skillz, Superdad can stay at home and take care of the kids. We'll take her; 2) The Swiss Miss wins the Zidane award. When he gets upset at Rickey's mad running skillz getting the best of him, he lost it. Almost got head-butted. His actions lead to the Jaguar scoring, and Rube having an aneuryism; 3) DT was good with the glove this week; 4) Heidi got on base every time she was up; 4) Joyce flew around the world to play this week. She brought a case of the swinging bunts though; 5) The Mick was a double-hitting machine for the TWOS.

SPECIAL BBQ Report (NOTES):
1) Don't let a Frenchman drink. Damn. That was nasty; 2) Old School. It was great to see The Coach, Hassie, The Cheetah, Windmill, Guppy and Irish Joyce at the BBQ. 3) Also, good to see "affiliated" members, Kari and Maggie May, as well as all the familar members; 4) Thanks to those who oversaw the grill (particularly Coach and Heidi); 5) Even Cool Papa showed up; 6) Ix-nay on the ulgari-Bay....


NATIONAL DAY: Majulah Softball
On Wednesday, 9 August, we will celebrate National Day with softball. Game at 10:00... (Despite some calls for afternoon).
