19 August 2006 - The Nobility of the Idiot (Standing next to His Girlfriend under the Umbrella)

ONES: 1B: Rickey; 2B: Diana; 3B: The Venezualan Jaguar; SS: Sandman; LF: The Mick; CF: Heidi; RF: Jason/Cool Papa; Rover: Clement/Jason
TWOS: 1B: Indiana; 2B: Geok; 3B: Rube; SS: DT; LF: Rugburn; CF: Grandpa; RF: Swiss Miss; Rover: Horfun

Game One:
ONES: 15
TWOS: 22

Game TWO... Rickey went to Joe's

It was a great game. Everyone was taking the extra base, and making the defenses work. The TWOs just had too many big guns. If Rube or Rugburn didn't hit a homer, Grandpa would. They just pounded the ONEs into submission. The ONES played good defense, it's just that the TWOs hit them well. One small issue for the ONES: Rickey and the Jaguar scored 9 of their runs. That's just not right (particularly the Rickey part). Overall, it was a great Saturday. What it's all about. The only issue was the cricket and soccer players. The frisbee players weren't that bad. Their fans are idiots, however. One set up a nice umbrella-ed viewing spot that was ruined by the glorious Rugburn. He not only hit the umbrella, he hit the two people underneath it too. The guy looked pissed, and all he could do is stand and stare. Too bad. Don't start camping out in centerfield.

Notes:
1) Grandpa hit his longest homer in memory; 2) Swiss Miss was hitting well, also; 3) Geok was making nice defensive plays, even when she was pitching against her own team; 4) As mentioned above, everyone was base-running like they had studied under Grandpa and Cool Papa; 5) Jaguar/Rickey combo is lethal, but slow...; 6) Rugburn blew the jug he earned for hitting the umbrella by getting caught on a bone-headed running play. There was only 1 out, dude.

MBP: Rube
Biggest Bat: Rube
Best Hit: Rugburn
Gold Glove: Geok
DY: Dave (drove through jams to get there)
