4 February 2006 - No Balls

ONES: 1B: Rube; 2B: Marv-elous; 3B: Rickey; SS: Sandman; LF: Grandpa; CF: Say Hey Kid; RF: Seven
TWOS: 1B: Heidi; 2B: Horfun; 3B: The Venezualan Jaguar; SS: DT; LF: Cool Papa; CF: Patrick; RF: Gunz

Game One:
ONES: 10
TWOS: 3

After a lot of false starts due to the inter-hall tournament, we finally secured the "opposite field" for our game, using the pull that certified "Hardest Working Man" (Quantitavely) has over his student, who was running the tournament (if you don't understand this last sentence, you weren't at Joe's). We didn't go to West Coast because the field was simply in perfect condition. Since the tournament bases, etc. were still there, we played "strikes, but no balls" on our pitches. The game was quite even, but the ONES would just score 1-2 every inning until they piled up. It was over when the TWOS loaded the bases in the bottom of the 8th with no outs, and only got one run out of it...

NOTES:
1) Everyone was competing for Drama Mama and DY. Sandman and Rube both made spectacular attempts at foul balls, but came up empty. Heidi - playing in her 4th game of the day - made a foul catch for the ages; 2) Horfun has some incredible snags on foul balls behind the plate. A natural catcher; 3) Rickey don't want to play 3B anymore. For the 3rd time this year, someone tried to castrate him for his - sometimes - taunting comments. This time it was Cool Papa hitting. At least Rickey didn't scream like a little girl this time. He is actually a good Third Baseman... to poop on!! (salute to video night at Rickey's after Joe's); 4) Patrick has got an arm. Damn!!! 5) Marv-elous was caught in a number of run-downs; 6) Seven is living up to the newly-married rule. He comes to the field and plays better than he has in ages. It must be the ring.

MBP: Seven (had to give it to him. It's the only thing he'll get for a long time)
Best Bat: Seven
DY: Heidi
Drama Mama: Heidi
Gold Glove: Horfun (while catching, not 2B)
Best Arm: Patrick, but a lot of competition here.
