24 December 2005 - "I want it that a way"

MANLY MEN: 1B: Rickey/Rube; 2B: Guppy; 3B: Rube/Rickey; SS: DT; LF: Sandman; RF: Male Jo
LADIES WITH BATS: 1B: Nurlin; 2B: Horfun; SS: Female Jo; LF: Heidi; RF: Mei
All Time SS/3B (Game one): DT
All Time 1B (Game two): Rube

Game One: (Mercy, 5 innings)
MM: 10
LWB: 0

Game Two: (Just played 5 innings, but would have been mercy)
MM: 2
LWB: 12

We played at West Coast Park, and it was hot. We played "Rube Rules", which is when the center-field (marked by cones) is dead - an automatic out. In game one the Manly Men got off to a great start, while the Ladies with Bats were trying to figure out how to hit to the corners. In Game two, the Ladies with Bats got their revenge. Fair games, good play.

Notes:
1) Good to see our international ladies back. They definitely raise our level of play; 2) Rube got spiked by Nurlin; 3) Horfun is showing some good batting skills; 4) Rickey was on fire in game one. 5 rbis, 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 hr, and he turned a 3-6-3 double play on defense; 4) Female Jo - tired of the Rickey taunting - slammed one down the 3b line in game two. Somehow, Rickey couldn't handle it. Impressive; 5) Sandman and Male Jo had good hitting days too; 6) Male Jo got caught in 2 run-downs on the same play. Got out of the first one, got caught in the second; 7) Guppy on Defense. Ball hit to Rickey at 1B. Ball deflects off Rickey's glove, into Guppy's, who throws it back to Rickey. 3-4-3 put-out.

MBP: The Ladies.
Biggest Bat: Rickey
DY: Female Jo
Play of the Day: Either 3-4-3, or Female Jo shutting Rickey up.
Bonehead Play of the Day: Everyone hitting inside the cones...

PS: NO GAME ON 26 December (Boxing Day).
