5 Feb 2005 - Old School

Today was an old school pair of games. Each side won, and there were a number of memorable plays and hits. Good Weather, empty fields (for the first game) and good games. Nothing to complain about.

Ones: 1B: TK/Beyonce, 2B: Diana, 3B: Swat, OF: Monk, Money, Beyonce/TK, Sandman
Twos: 1B: Rickey, 2B: Princess, 3B: The Generalissimo, OF: TH, Jo (male), TS, Horfun/Jason, C: Jason/Horfun (Jo [male] plays SS once DT moves to Ones)
Goes both ways: DT at SS (but plays for Ones once the Sandman takes off).

Score:
13-4
3-7 (5 innings)

Highlights:
1) The Princess hits for power. She hit a homerun down the 3B line that went all the way to the sidewalk. She carries the Twos to victory in the second game. Also had some nice fielding. 2) DT had some really nice plays at SS for both sides. 3) Jo (male) shuts down the Ones in bottom of the 9th (second game) with amazing range. Runs the ball down, hurls it to Rickey for the second out. 4) 2B is dangerous. Both Princess and Diana get injured on bad bounces or tosses. Both play through the pain. 5)Rickey needs oxygen. Mark it on the calendar. He only hits 2 or 3 homeruns a year. This is the first.

MBP: Princess
Hit of the Day: Princess
Gold Glove: DT
Play of the Day: Jo
Bonehead Play of the Day: No one
DY: Horfun. Tremendous hustle shown at rover and catcher

  1. Thanks to Rickey for keeping up the blog while yours truly is pre-occupied with work.
Not to worry, I will return.
Meanwhile, I hand over to Mr Speed himself...
