First baseball memory: Watching baseball games with his father, which began Dumatrait's love affair with baseball. "I've been playing since I was 5," he said.

First job: Baseball. "I didn't have a job in high school," said Dumatrait, who signed with the Boston Red Sox in July 2000 after they drafted him in the first round of that year's draft. "My dad told me if I made baseball my job (growing up), he'd take care of me."
Most painful memory: Dumatrait underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2004. "It wasn't going through it, because that was gradual," he said. "Not being able to play for a year (was the worst part)."
Funniest teammate: Nyjer Morgan.
First car: A 1991 Chevy Silverado.
Baseball player you'd like to meet: Having already met Griffey Jr., his childhood hero, Dumatrait said he would take any of the current Hall of Famers.
Favorite athletes to watch: A Los Angeles Lakers fan, Dumatrait loves watching Kobe Bryant. "And Tiger Woods," Dumatrait said, "especially this year."
